- The developer of the Indian Land shopping center anchored by Walmart Supercenter will begin construction on the second phase of the development, Six Mile Commons. The major tenant in Phase II is Mattress Firm. Existing tenants include Chick Fil-A, Krispy Kreme, and a gas service station.
- Publix, which is opening its new Ballantyne location at the end of February, has an existing store in Indian Land, which opened in 2012. Area grocery competitors include Aldi, Walmart Supercenter, and Food Lion.
- The Sterling Group is building a 246-unit apartment complex in Bailes Ridge on SC Highway 160.
- RedVentures, an Internet marketing company headquartered in Indian Land, continues to grow. They recently held an interview day at their corporate offices to hire as many as 200 new employees.
- A Pro Martial Arts franchisee opened their first of five area locations at 8390 Charlotte Highway in Indian Land, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. This is just one business out of many opening in the area.
